Are you trying to use Netflix on your Nintendo Wii? If yes, then I’m sure you must have faced issues in accessing Netflix at times, right? If yes, then today, we are going to discuss the process of how to fix the problem of ‘Unable to connect to Netflix’, which perhaps is the most common issue that people using Nintendo Wii come across.
Nintendo Wii is a gaming console, but it has got so much advanced over the past few years that now, it supports TV apps as well. Apps like Netflix, Hulu, and other top apps run smoothly on Nintendo Wii. If you are already using Netflix, but face issues at times, with most common one being ‘unable to connect to Netflix, then here are the steps that you can follow to get rid of this issue.
Restart your home network
To perform a full restart, you will have to unplug the power cable from your gaming console and other home network equipment for half a minute. Then, plug in the power cable again.
Turn off Nintendo Wii.
Unplug the modem and/or router from main power for 30 seconds.
Plug in the modem and wait until you see new indicator lights turned on. If you are using a router as well, then plug it into the main power supply and wait until the new indicator lights start blinking.
It’s time to check whether Netflix starts working again or not.
Connect Nintendo Wii directly to the modem
If the connection has been made through a wireless router, which is connected to your modem, but you are still facing issues in connecting to the internet, then you need to bypass the router. You will have to use an Ethernet cable to connect Nintendo Wii to the internet. Here is what you are going to do:
- Turn off the game console.
- Plug the game console into the modem using an Ethernet cable.
- Take the power out of the modem for 30 seconds and then, plug it back again.
- Once all the new indicator lights start blinking, you can turn on the game console and try Netflix again.
This step is going to work perfectly, and Netflix is going to start working again on your Nintendo Wii. But, in case that doesn’t happen, then you will have to get in touch with your ISP because only they can tell if there is any strange issue with your internet, which is making the network difficult to access content from Netflix.
Restore ISP’s default settings
If you have changed the connection settings of your streaming device, then it is recommended to restore the default settings of your internet service provider (ISP). If you are trying to connect with a VPN, then disable it and then, connect directly via the home internet network. In case, you change the streaming device to custom DNS setting, then you will have to rest the device to get DNS automatically. If you come across any issue, then it is better to leave things to experts.
Improve your Wi-Fi signal
If you think the app was working well over the Wi-Fi network, then there must have been some issue with the Wi-Fi, which you will have to resolve.
- You can place the router in a new location and check if the internet starts working.
- Move the router away from all the devices that you think could intervene in the signal.
- If your router is close to the floor, then move it to a higher location such as a desk or a bookshelf.
