Motorola router works fine when it is properly set up, but even then, problems can surface in the router. If you are facing difficulties connecting to the internet, then you should first try to reset the router, which you can by unplugging the power cord from the router and then, wait for a couple of minutes. Then, plug the router back into the power outlet and wait until the lights start blinking on the device. Restart your computer now or if your router is connected to the modem, then unplug the modem for a couple of minutes then, plug it back again. Then, do the same with the router. If you are unable to fix the problem, then here is what you can do.
Problem 1 – Green power light is off
Solution – If you come across this issue, then make sure that the power cord is plugged properly into the wall outlet along with the rear panel of the router.
Problem 2 – Check if the power outlet is working.
Solution – If the standby LED is on, then your router is in standby mode. Press the‘ Standby’ button to reconnect to the internet.
Problem 3 – Unable to send or receive data
Solution – If you can’t send or receive data, check the lights on the front panel. Also, check the coaxial cable at the router and wall power outlet. Also, check the Ethernet cable or USB if it is attached to the router and computer or not. You can also reset the router by taking off the power cord from the router followed by waiting for a couple of minutes.
Problem 4 – Receive LED is blinking or turned off
If the receive channel is gone, then you need to check if the TV service and the coaxial connection between the wall outlet and router are connected.
Problem 5 – Send LED is off
Solution – In case, the send LED is off, then that means the send channel has been lost. You need to check if the router is moved to a different outlet. Moreover, if you have a splitter feeding a television on the same coaxial line as the router, then take out the splitter from the mix and connect the coaxial cable directly to the router.
Problem 6 – Online LED is off or flashing
Solution – This issue comes with the router isn’t registered with the internet servers. You need to get in touch with support for verifying the MAC address of your router.
Problem 7 – PC/Activity LED is off
Solution – Check the Ethernet connection between your router and computer. If your modem is connected to your Motorola router or hub, then you need to power cycle or bypass the hardware followed by plugging the router into the computer.
